Kreepy and Kooky

Ahh you've gotta love all those 'fuckyeah______' tumblr pages. I visit fuckyeahgoths with an almost religious zeal. Today I happened to stumble upon another which is likely to end up on my favourites bar. Feast your heathen eyes on fuckyeahoccultism, a one-stop shop for everything dark and spooky and witchy. Hurrah!

Daphne's Dying for Charity

Alongside celebrities including Lady Gaga, Elijah Wood, Justin Timberlake and David LaChapelle, Daphne Guinness is participating in a 'digital death' to raise money for the AIDS charity Keep A Child Alive. As well as their 'death' being represented by a photo of the celebrity supposedly lying in state, each participant must 'die online ' - no tweets, no facebook, no myspace - until a million dollars has been donated.

Student Protest, Glasgow.

Yesterday I was proud to be part of the protest both at the Art School and in the centre of town alongside students from other universities and colleges.
Here are a couple of my photos from the day...

The amount of 'orbs' captured on this photo confirm without a doubt that the Mack building is seriously haunted. Call Derek and Yvette, I want a live show!

Celebrity Death Masks

Sculptor Daniel Edwards has created a series of celebrity death masks including Paris Hilton (and Tinkerbell!) in an autopsy pose, and an Oprah Winfrey gold sarcophagus. I love it.

Been spending a while under plaster bandages to make a cast of my face. It's remarkably good for the complexion (put cling film between your skin and the bandages).

Patti Smith at Jim Morrison's Grave

I've been getting some much needed respite from dissertation writing at night, when I curl up with Just Kids
by Patti Smith and read about her and Robert Mapplethorpe's adventures in New York in the late 60s/early 70s.
