12 inches deep

Today's purchases at the wonderful Vinyl Hut record store on Byres Road:

I bought this as a gift for a friend, kind of wanted to keep it though.

Vinyl Hut is probably the best small record shop in Glasgow, it hasn't been there very long (or am I mistaken?) and it was my first visit. They have loads of obscurities as well as classics, lots of industrial and post-punk releases in great condition. If you live in Glasgow or are just passing through and have an hour to kill, it's definitely worth a visit.

I think I've missed my calling in life - I want to be a b-movie actress.

The Protagonist

Linder Sterling, one of my all-time favourite artists, is currently preparing for a 13 hour long performance at the Arches in Glasgow (The Darktown Cakewalk: Celebrated from the House of  FAME) as well as an exhibition entitled King's Ransom (Hybrid Tea) at Sorcha Dallas gallery. The former will take place on the 23rd of April while the latter opens on Friday. During the build-up to the shows, the website CT Editions asked Linder to keep an online diary to record the making of the pieces, her inspirations and the work that goes on behind the scenes.

View all of the images here, and if you happen to be in Glasgow this week come along to the preview at Sorcha Dallas on Friday evening.

More kittenspiration

By Tim Walker, who did some lovely photos of my no. 1 lady LINDER STERLING
and her collaborator, designer RICHARD NICOLL, for i-D mag.

I hope no cats were harmed in the making of this photo! Nevertheless, I'm sure they appreciate that you have to suffer for beauty...

Catching up on some True Crime with Louise Welsh.
